G’day Colin,

Just thought i’d pop by say G’day and have a look at your blog. Looks like everything is going good for you and i haven’t had a chance to look at the new newsletter yet but will as it sounds like there are some articles in there with info on topics i’ve been looking into. Thanks for the update.

Well, I finally got here after half a day of answering comments over at my thread…

I must say this is an unusual but very nice looking blog. I haven’t seen this theme before so it stands out well.

Gee, that is quite an accolade. I don’t think I deserve it but, if you think that, then all I can say is a profound thank you.

Glad you found the article I wrote inspiring to you.

Keep up the good work here and remember, Colin, that the comments will come after you visit other blogs. Do the rounds, my friend, jump on as many as you can - especially the big ones like Garry Parkes, JT’s, Nikki’s and some of the others. Get yourself known.

Hi Colin -

Thought I’d pop over here to answer the question you left on my blog just in case you’ve not signed up to the “notify me of follow up comments” feed.

Basically to get the Alex picture above your opt-in link (you should have an opt-in on your front page), all I did was to add a “text” box where I wanted it. I snagged the picture from AJ’s ebook (the PP product itself) - hover over it, right click, scroll to “save picture as”, save it somewhere on your hard drive, upload it to your /images file on your site. Then add an image HTML into the text box:

CHANGE the links in the above HTML. Then add the aweber javascript for the opt-in itself - again into the HTML. Go to your blog and check it out. You may need to resixe the image, put a border on or whatever, but you will have a picture.

Hope this helps.

BTW - I would advise against giving so many links in your blog posts themselves. When the spiders visit your site, they will be immediately bounced off onto the others’ sites and your’s won’t get spidered - unless you’ve got the NOFOLLOW setting checked - somewhere in the settings of your blog - to also apply to links WITHIN your posts.

And I disagree with Garry’s comments above - at this stage, you need to be promoting outside the AJ group - you need to make yourself different from the rest. I’m still struggling with this. It’s harsh - but it must be said. At this stage, unless you’re one of the favourite few, you need to be doing something different.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I left a response there but thought I would post it here for you as well:)

I created the image on the main page with macromedia fireworks. Once i had done that I uploaded it and added a link to the index.php file for my theme.
Not 100% positive about your fantastic question but I think if you didnt use it to install wordpress you wont have to option to use it for the 2.7 upgrade, shame because it is as simple as clicking the option!
I have changed my theme a few times so, yes, if you not happy change it. It’s easy to do and you want your blog to look right.
